Description

The three stages of the PADI OWD course:

Knowledge Development: You will learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the right equipment and what to consider when planning a dive.

Pool dives: You start practicing basic skills in the pool or similar conditions. You will learn everything from preparing the equipment to emptying the mask underwater without rising to the surface.

Diving in real conditions: You will continue your training with your new friends by diving under the guidance of a PADI trainer in four open water dives in typical conditions in the area. This is the funniest part where everything you learn comes together so you can enjoy an adventure in the underwater world - beginner level.

What equipment do I need?

You should have at least your own mask, fins and snorkel when you start the PADI Open Water Diver course. The fit of these equipment is important and your local PADI Dive Center will help you choose the equipment that is right for you.

Health: For safety reasons, all participants must complete a health report.

Water Skills: You should show that you have basic water skills by swimming 200 meters. There is no time limit for swimming and you can choose your swimming style. You should also be able to float for 10 minutes freely.

Age: You must be at least 10 years old.

How long does the course last?

You will dive in less time than you might think. At our dive center, the PADI Open Water Diver course usually takes 1 month to 6 months, depending on how often you meet your trainer.

PADI diving courses are performance-based, which means your instructor is interested in learning how to dive, not how long you spend in the classroom.

You develop your skills at your own pace - faster or slower, depending on how much time you need to become a confident diver who dives regularly.

What the course includes:

The PADI OWD course consists of three parts, the theory part, pool training
as well as open water exercises. After completing these, you will receive an international OWD
scuba diver training which allows you to independently dive another classified
with a diver anywhere up to a depth of 18 meters (with a junior up to 12 meters).

In the theoretical part, you will learn about equipment related to scuba diving, pressure
impact, safety rules, dive planning, underwater
environment and much more. The theoretical part can be studied from the book and now also
online effectively from your home computer.

The pool section applies the theory you learn to practice. In the pool you will learn safely
under the supervision of an experienced instructor with all the basic diving skills, equipment
operation and safety and emergency procedures in five different training modules.

Open water dives are done in four separate open water dives in some good
at a nearby location, and honing the skills learned in the pool in the right open water environment.
